FASHION LOOKBOOKS:
DOCUMENTING MY CULTURE MAGAZINE SERIES
This dual-lookbook project is a celebration of personal style, friendship, and street fashion through editorial design. Centred on two individuals — Nathaniel and Isaac — each A4 booklet captures their distinct fashion identities, from smart casual to vintage sportswear and bold streetwear. The lookbooks are a visual reflection of how fashion can express personality, subculture, and creativity on a deeply individual level.
Across both books, layout experimentation plays a central role. The typography dynamically interacts with imagery, often rotated, spaced, and coloured to echo the tones of the clothing worn. Every spread offers a new composition, allowing each look and moment to stand out with rhythm and intent. By sampling the colour schemes directly from the garments, the design becomes closely tied to the subject matter — making each booklet feel personal and curated.
This project merges photography, editorial design, and storytelling in a way that’s spontaneous yet considered. It allowed me to explore art direction and layout design through a fashion lens, further reinforcing my passion for working at the intersection of design, identity, and culture.
