THREADWORK - EMBROIDERY IN FASHION BOOKLET SERIES
Threadwork is a multi-format editorial design project that explores the art of embroidery within the context of fashion — past, present, and contemporary culture. Through a series of three A5 booklets and accompanying posters, the project investigates embroidery as a visual language, a method of making, and a tool for identity and expression.
Each booklet focuses on a distinct narrative thread:
Threads Through Time examines embroidery’s rich global history and its evolving role in fashion across eras
Stitch by Stitch dives into the materials, techniques, and cultural practices that shape the craft
Modern Threads looks at embroidery’s resurgence in today’s fashion scene — from runway to streetwear and DIY subcultures.
Designed with a clear editorial structure, the project combines typographic styling, grid-based layouts, and custom icons to create a visually cohesive and conceptually layered series. Posters extend the identity of each booklet into large-scale format, creating a modular visual system. With considered use of typefaces, colour palettes, and image curation, this project reflects my growing passion for editorial design, fashion storytelling, and visual communication — and marks a step toward my ambition to work at the intersection of design and contemporary culture.
